Sports Identity is proud to announce a partnership with Benjamin Watson of the New England Patriots and his wife, Kirsten’s, One More Foundation. Sports Identity will be developing and executing multiple fund raising events including a 7v7 Flag Football Tournament and a Football 101 educational experience, as well stewardship and visibility initiatives including PR, Drives, Signings and more for the Watsons.
One More is a Christian based foundation that allocates funds to communities and individuals in need through “spreading the love and hope of Christ to One More soul by meeting real needs, promoting education, and providing enrichment opportunities through charitable initiatives and partnerships.” It was founded in January of 2008 and thus far has held football clinics, toy and food drives, raffles for Super Bowl tickets and much more as it has accumulated over $100,000 raised already.
Benjamin has been a member of the Patriots since being drafted by them in 2004. A winner of two Super Bowl rings, Benjamin has established himself as a vital 2nd and 3rd option as well as short yardage target for Tom Brady. Since his sophomore year in 2005, he has averaged 34 Receptions and almost 4 Touchdowns a year, having a career year in ’06 with 49 Receptions and 643 yards. In 2007, he was 3rd on the team in Touchdowns with 6. Putting his value to the offense in perspective, from 2005-2007, only Ben Coates, Patriots Hall of Famer, had more receptions (165) in a 3-year period than Benjamin who caught 117.
A native of Rock Hill, SC, Benjamin attended Northwestern High School. After graduating from Georgia with a degree in Finance, Benjamin now resides in Quincy, MA, a suburb of Boston 10 miles to the south with his wife Kirsten, the Vice President of One More, and their little girl Grace, just 5 months old.
